Henry’s Newborn Family Portraits

Dallas Family Photographer

It hasn’t been that long since Jack had his baptism and yet, in just two years, he seemed so much bigger! I had the pleasure of photographing their family recently as they have a new addition – baby Henry! Henry was such a peaceful little one throughout the session, and even looked more adorable wearing his knitted gray crown.

Also, if you’re someone who loves interior design and spends their time binging HGTV like me, their home is something to admire. When I asked about a few stand-out pieces, they said that they thrifted it and just fixed it up a bit! I’m sure my husband would love if I followed them on thrifting a bit more, haha.

Jared and Chris’s Couple’s Portrait Session

DFW Engagement PhotographerOver seven years ago, on a bit of a whim, I started my journey in photographing complete strangers that, in turn, became familiar faces. It’s been an arduous voyage that’s taken me through many hurdles, both good and bad. I’ve been able to meet so many amazing people, have been given so many great experiences, and through capturing other people’s moments, were able to make my own at the same time. But it’s been a lonely road. And we all know that everything is more fun when you have someone to share it with.

After moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I met Jared, a fellow photographer with a spunky attitude and a lively laugh. We hit it off pretty quickly and I knew we would make a great team. That is why I am excited to announce that Jared is our newest addition to Paper Ban Photography team!

I had the pleasure of photographing him and his partner Chris one afternoon, and they are such goofballs when they’re together, as you can see. In so many ways, they are such opposites. But you know what they say – opposites attract!

Manny and Megan’s Engagement Portraits at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

Dallas Arboretum Engagement Photograph

Texas’ summer is no joke. As someone used to Southern California’s somewhat consistent weather, having to deal with the heat of summer in Dallas-Fort Worth was something that I have not gotten used to. Triple digits is not uncommon. In a lot of ways, this makes photographing difficult because all you want to do is run into an air-conditioned room. And yet! When it came to Megan and Manny’s engagement session at the Dallas Arboretum, and later on in the Bishop Arts district, they came off so naturally unaffected by the heat. In fact, they were the heat.

We can’t wait to photograph your wedding in just a few months!

Chrissy and John’s Engagement Portraits in El Matador Beach

El Matador Engagement Session

You know when you meet a couple and their chemistry just explodes? That’s what happened when I photographed Chrissy and John at El Matador Beach for their engagement session the other day. Amongst the California super bloom, I witnessed sparks flying and it translated so well onto the photos in this blog post. I mean, swoon!

Although these guys reside in Northern California, most of their families are located in the Los Angeles area, which is where their summer wedding will be. Best of both worlds, am I right? They were such a hoot to photograph, I cannot wait to document their big day this upcoming August!

The P Family’s Portrait Session at the Park

It seems like these days, the concept of time passes me through seeing how much my client’s grow the next time I see them. It has been a few years since I photographed the P family – first when Nathan and Marissa’s wedding, and then for Teddy’s first birthday, and now for Ollie’s first birthday! This family is growing, and it’s beautiful to catch up to be a part of it.

Kristina and Brandon’s La Serena Villas Wedding at Palm Springs

Having been in Texas for almost a year now, it was such a tremendous pleasure to be able to fly back to Southern California and take a little road trip to Palm Springs this winter to photograph Kristina and Brandon’s wedding at the gorgeous boutique hotel La Serena Villas. These guys are adventurers (I know this because they had driven from San Diego all the way to San Francisco for their engagement portraits) and Palm Springs was the perfect setting for their intimate wedding.

Typical of Southern California winters, it was a warm and sunny day in the middle of December – the best conditions for a rooftop wedding. Kristina looked absolutely gorgeous with her wedding dress, and Brandon looked killer in his suit. Bougainvilleas filled the streets, and judging from the photos, we relished them. Honestly, there were so many favorite images, it was hard to pair them down!
