If you’ve been with me long enough, you’ll remember a time where I experimented with boudoir which, when I look back, was five years ago! My, how time flies. I had rented a hotel room, but it was hard for me to find one that had all the qualities I wanted. Plus, logistically, it was a lot to handle. So, I attempted to rent a little space in Downtown LA, and for one reason or another, that didn’t work out either. My dream of continuing boudoir sessions quietly simmered down.
But it stayed in the back of my mind.
As we started house hunting in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, one thing that I wanted on my must-have list was a studio space. It didn’t have to be big, but it needed the kind of natural light that would make my clients glow.
I’m very excited to say that I now have that space.
Mrs. T was the first person to be photographed there, and may I just say, she was an absolute dream to shoot! And all the clothes and accessories? They’re part of what I call TheStudio Closet, which means they’re available for use when you come on in. At this introductory stage, the closet is very small, haha, so I highly recommend that you bring your own lingerie and accessories. But I am so excited to fill it with garments of all sizes.
Anyway, without further ado, I invite you to read on to the rest of the post!
Having once lived in Alhambra, going to school in Pasadena City College, and working in Pasadena, I’ve passed by Castle Green so many times, wondering and dreaming about photographing on the property. My dream came true when Dylan and Ashley hired me to photograph their Castle Green wedding in the spring! And after their engagement session at and around Santa Monica pier, I was excited to once again capture the love that the share.
And what a beautiful day it was. Ashley looked absolutely stunning with her sweetheart neckline dress and a gorgeous cascading bouquet sprinkled by dark red accent flowers. Dylan, with his dark red bowtie and custom suit from IndoChino that was monogramed with their names and wedding date, looked absolutely dapper. It was an honor to have been a part of their big day!
One of my first few weddings that I had photographed were these guys – Carla and Andrew. They are pure sweethearts! To see them years later, and now with the addition of a new family member, little Aaron, I am in awe and honored to be able to capture these special moments in their home. It’s always surreal to me to be around newborns. They’re just so tiny! And it’s only a short matter of time before they become full-fledged people.
For a while, it seemed like the weather god was just not participating for Annie and Jason’s engagement session. How is it that sunny Southern California kept anticipating rain during spring?! Haha, but really, everything turned out just fine for their session. In fact, better than fine. We wandered around El Matador Beach in Malibu and these guys just oozed romance. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer!
Love was in the air when I photographed Heidi and Carlos, and rightly so as they were a few months away from getting married! We photographed their Los Angeles engagement portrait session at Kenneth Hann Park, a beautiful, and rather large park that overlooked the city once you get up top (you’ll see once you get to the end of the post).
These photos were actually taken a few months ago, and since then, they’ve tied the knot! I can’t wait to show you the photos from their wedding soon!
As much as I love frolicking in the meadows and getting sand in between my toes (and in every crevices of my camera backpack), I love a good photoshoot in the home. It’s such a warm and cozy environment, and it’s truly and utterly you. In this case, the L family. With the help of big sister Reese, we were able to get some really cute photos of Tomàs just days after his birth <3
