Kristina and Brandon’s La Serena Villas Wedding at Palm Springs

Having been in Texas for almost a year now, it was such a tremendous pleasure to be able to fly back to Southern California and take a little road trip to Palm Springs this winter to photograph Kristina and Brandon’s wedding at the gorgeous boutique hotel La Serena Villas. These guys are adventurers (I know this because they had driven from San Diego all the way to San Francisco for their engagement portraits) and Palm Springs was the perfect setting for their intimate wedding.

Typical of Southern California winters, it was a warm and sunny day in the middle of December – the best conditions for a rooftop wedding. Kristina looked absolutely gorgeous with her wedding dress, and Brandon looked killer in his suit. Bougainvilleas filled the streets, and judging from the photos, we relished them. Honestly, there were so many favorite images, it was hard to pair them down!

Annie and Jason’s Ocean View Golf Course Wedding

PALOS VERDES, CALIFORNIA

Ever since photographing their Malibu beach engagement session and witnessing their adorable chemistry, I was absolutely excited to document their golf course wedding that overlooked the Pacific ocean. Having moved to Texas recently and being nowhere near the ocean, I inhaled the salty air with nothing but fond memories. Both got ready at the Courtyard Marriott in Torrance and traveled to the beautiful Rancho Palos Verdes Golf Course for their wedding ceremony and reception.

Without fail, there were moments where I was close to tears and there were moments where there was definitely something in my eye. Both times occurred during the vows (I wasn’t alone in this – caught some of the bridesmaids and groomsmen shedding tears as well!) and the toasts. These guys were hilarious, and they were surrounded by hilarious friends and family. Oh, and their bridal portraits overlooking the ocean during sunset is just stunning!!!

Heidi and Carlos’s Wedding at Harlyne J. Norris Pavilion

ROLLING HILLS ESTATE, CALIFORNIA

What’s a better way of celebrating getting a Master’s degree than getting married to your high school sweetheart? That’s just what Heidi did and she looked absolutely beautiful doing so! I remember during her and Carlos’s engagement session at Kenneth Hann Park, she mentioned just a tiny bit of stress because of how much was going on in her life because of the wedding and school, and I’m just so glad she came out of it with shining colors.

The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Harlyne J. Norris Pavillion in Rolling Hills Estate. It’s originally a venue for the performing arts, but wow, it makes for a great wedding venue. Heidi and Carlos looks just stunning throughout the day, especially with their two boys in the party.

Ashley and Dylan’s Wedding at Castle Green

Castle Green WeddingPASADENA, CALIFORNIA

Having once lived in Alhambra, going to school in Pasadena City College, and working in Pasadena, I’ve passed by Castle Green so many times, wondering and dreaming about photographing on the property. My dream came true when Dylan and Ashley hired me to photograph their Castle Green wedding in the spring! And after their engagement session at and around Santa Monica pier, I was excited to once again capture the love that the share.

And what a beautiful day it was. Ashley looked absolutely stunning with her sweetheart neckline dress and a gorgeous cascading bouquet sprinkled by dark red accent flowers. Dylan, with his dark red bowtie and custom suit from IndoChino that was monogramed with their names and wedding date, looked absolutely dapper. It was an honor to have been a part of their big day!

Annie and Jason’s Malibu Beach Engagement Portraits

Malibu Engagement Portrait PhotographerMALIBU, CALIFORNIA

For a while, it seemed like the weather god was just not participating for Annie and Jason’s engagement session. How is it that sunny Southern California kept anticipating rain during spring?! Haha, but really, everything turned out just fine for their session. In fact, better than fine. We wandered around El Matador Beach in Malibu and these guys just oozed romance. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer!
