Kathryn and Taylor’s Wedding at Women’s Twentieth Century Club

women's twentieth century club weddingEAGLE ROCK, CALIFORNIA

Ah, I remembered photographing Kathryn and Taylor for their Disneyland engagement portrait session. Recently, Kathryn and Taylor got married at such an awesome venue in Eagle Rock. It’s called the Women’s Twentieth Century Club and has been deemed by the National Park Services to be a property of historic value. The beautiful ceremony was held in the backyard where trees surrounded the area, and the reception was held inside the craftsman house. Oh, and for dinner? Street tacos, yeees!!!

Olia and Guillaume’s Intimate Wedding at Paramour Estate

Intimate wedding Paramour Estate

locationSILVERLAKE, CALIFORNIA

Olia and Guillaume, and the rest of their wedding guests, flew in from France to Los Angeles to have an intimate wedding at the amazing Paramour Estate on top of Silverlake. With a Great Gatsby type of wedding in mind, the Paramour Estate was the perfect location to have it. The interior decor was very eclectic, with furniture from different parts of the world, large ornate paintings, and taxidermy in every room.

Olia wore a beautiful 1920’s style wedding dress, intricately woven with beads, while Guillaume looked absolutely dapper in his light blue suit with white trimmings. Emotions ran high during the ceremony, when Olia was in such a joyous state that tears would not stop, and to comfort her, Guillaume was ever so gentlemanly that he would give her kisses before the official “you may kiss your bride” statement! D’aw!

In so many ways, Olia has such a firecracker personality, it was an absolute joy to photograph their wedding. They even opted for a completely documentary-style coverage – no posed photos!

Mark and Marisol Intimate Wedding

A few weeks ago, Mark and Marisol celebrated their beautiful and intimate wedding all over Los Angeles. The celebration began on a bright and sunny California winter morning in Beverly Hills’ Franklin Canyon Park where the bride and groom got ready for the day ahead. Marisol looked absolutely gorgeous as her bridesmaids helped her into her wedding dress, and even more beautiful as she walked down the aisle of the amphitheater with her father.

For lunch, the bridal party headed to a place that Mark and Marisol spent a lot of meals at: the Johnny Rockets on Melrose. I love how laid back this couple is! A bride munching on chicken fingers and a groom chowing down a burger? Too cool.

Everyone gathered back together for the reception held at the rooftop of The Oviatt in Downtown Los Angeles. Oh my, this historic building is so beautiful, and going up to the rooftop felt like being transported to a different era. The decor had the gorgeous 1920’s feel of the Art Deco time period. I loved it! And the rooftop! So pretty! Being surrounded by the surrounding skyscrapers of DTLA was magical.

I absolutely loved photographing Mark and Marisol’s Los Angeles intimate wedding. They were such a sweet, sweet couple and I adore how they put their own personalities to every aspect of their big day.

Jen and Jim’s Beach Wedding

The beach was amazing. The sky was blue, the breeze was cool, and Mother Nature was ready to celebrate Jen and Jim’s beach wedding. As the couple flew in from Sacramento, they both stayed at the beautiful Shutters on the Beach hotel located in Santa Monica, and got ready at the Presidential Suite (swoon!). Or at least, Jen did. And rightfully so, since women just need more space to get ready compared to men! *cough cough*

With their intimate guest lists, most who’ve traveled from all over the west coast, we made our way to Pacific Palisades Beach for Jen and Jim’s ceremony. It was such a beautiful ceremony, too. The waves swept in and out in front of the party as their wedding officiant, a long-time friend who became an officiant just for their wedding, unionized the couple. There was so much love that surrounded this couple.

For their reception, we came back to Shutters on the Beach to a room that just overlooks the beach at sunset. It was a spectacular view. The room was cozy and completely decked out in pink and white floral arrangements. Everyone was all in smiles, especially on the dance floor!

I love small and intimate weddings.. have I mentioned that before? And as Nathan and Marissa described their plans for their wedding – ceremony and reception taking place in a restaurant in Santa Monica – I had googley eyes! As we met over their engagement session, it became clear that a backyard type of wedding is just the perfect type for this couple.

Their wedding day arrived. Marissa looked beautiful with her hair neatly curled and her imported-from-Australia lace wedding dress while Nathan was ever-so-snappy in his navy colored suit and slicked hair. What’s more,  they opted to get ready together in the same hotel room, irregardless what superstition and tradition has been place. Rebels, I say!

And as their beautiful day goes on, the merry celebration of their union continues on to the late night under the dark L.A sky.

Greg and Katie

Santa Barbara City Hall Wedding PhotographerlocationSANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA

I have never been to Santa Barbara before Greg and Katie’s wedding, and I am embarrassed to say that. The city is gorgeous! On the day of their wedding, the sky was the perfect shade of blue, the breeze was nice and relaxing, and my bride and groom just made the city that much better.

Greg and Katie held their wedding ceremony at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Mural Room, which is a beautiful painted room within an already beautiful courthouse full of arches, mosaics, and colors. With a guest list of only immediate relatives and close friends, the lovely couple was wedded.

The reception was taken a couple of blocks down, in a cozy pizzaria called Olio. I felt like I was seriously in Italy in that restaurant! And just like the old saying, ‘a family that eats together, stays together,’ all the guests sat together in one big table, enjoying each other’s company in celebration of the new family that has been formed.
