Sam

Los Angeles Maternity Photography Session

locationEAGLE ROCK, CALIFORNIA

Sam was due any day with her second child, a boy that is to be named Riot. She has never gotten her maternity photos done – for her first child and Riot-, and the clock was ticking to document her pregnancy journey. We had to do something quickly. When I mentioned that it might be a great idea to photograph her in her cozy Eagle Rock home as part of a lifestyle maternity session, she agreed!

We photographed Sam in a few settings throughout her home. The first setting is her lovely-lit bedroom that just gives gorgeous angelic light, and I love the intimate mood of these photos. The rest of her family joined in soon afterwards for a few interactive group photos, as the beginning of their welcome party for Riot.

I absolutely love these photos. For me, lifestyle photos taken in the home gives such an intimate slice-of-life feeling that can be cherished for years to come. If Sam’s family move to a different home, they’ll have these images to remember a period of their time where they lived their life then and there.

I don’t share this with many people, mainly because it doesn’t really come up, but how I met my Joseph, my boyfriend of 2.5 years now, was through an online dating site. Holy crow, I can’t believe it’s been that long, and I’m so glad there was even an online platform for us to meet, as I’m sure we would have never met otherwise.

I tell you this brief random tidbit because Sheena, the beautiful lady that I photographed, contacted me in need of headshots for a new online dating website. Because of how much an online dating website had done for me personally, I was more than excited to help Sheena with her new dating business as much as I could.

Little Austin, with his big and fluffy cheeks, is turning one this month! As part of his big birthday bash, Paula and Denny wanted a birthday cake-smash session. So during Halloween, before all the houses even opened their doors to trick-or-treaters, we met up at Venice Pier so Austin could wreak havoc on a very delicious cake.

With the sun setting behind him, Austin never looked back once he got a taste of The Cake.

Happy birthday, Austin! Thank you for having me as your family portrait photographer!

Anna

Los Angeles Portrait Photographer

locationYOSEMITE, CALIFORNIA

During my trip to Yosemite (I’ve posted a couple of photos on the Facebook page!), my friend and I tried to take advantage of the beautiful cabin we stayed at as well as the outdoor nature with an impromptu portrait shoot. My friend Anna then ditched her hiking clothes and wore a gorgeous earthy-toned maxi dress.

I love how these photos turned out!

Joelle

Los Angeles Newborn Photographer

locationHOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA

Newborn Joelle arrived just the day after April 1st. She was a tiny littlest thing, and definitely the quietest. As I tried to keep her peacefully asleep, the house was so full of commotion of her arrival that she ultimately woke up and stayed awake. Yet, she never cried. Joelle’s eyes blinked, fluttered, and peered with wonder at all of us that ogled her.

If you’ve ever seen any high school movies, you’ll know that transferring to a new high school is not the easiest thing to do. Unknown territory. And the best way to overcome that obstacle is if you knew someone from that school.

When Andrew was faced with going to a new school during his Junior year in high school, he did just that. He sought out a friend that would guide him, which is where Carla came in. What she didn’t know was that it was all a pick-up line.

Oh Andrew – you, sly, you!

Now, after six years together and being true high school sweethearts, Andrew and Carla are preparing for the next milestone in their life. They’re engaged! Oh, I had so much fun photographing their engagement and I can’t wait to document your wedding later this year!
