Carla and Andrew’s Rustic Wedding

OAK GLEN, CALIFORNIA

When Carla and Andrew explained what they had in store for their wedding while shooting their engagement session, I was beyond excited to photograph their big day. Then that day finally came and everything seemed more than perfect. Out in Oak Glen, CA – aka Apple Country – Carla and Andrew’s wedding took place in a beautiful estate called Riley’s Farm.

Carla, the most DIYer of any bride I’ve ever met, looked flawless in her handcrafted hair piece and self-applied makeup. And as soon as she (with the help of mother and sister!) put on her wedding gown – stunning. With Andrew though, all he has to do is just smile, tuck the good ol’ bow-tie here and there, and he’s good to go, haha.

Everyone was all smiles during the day. And who wouldn’t be, when we’re celebrating the union of two such heart-warming souls? Congratulations to Carla and Andrew!

Colin

Los Angeles Birthday Photographer

locationLA CAÑADA, CALIFORNIA

Recently, Colin turned one years old and to celebrate, his parents, Drew and Deborah, threw him a dinosaur-themed party in the quiet Los Angeles County neighborhood of La Cañada. The party decorations looked adorably ferocious with balloons and dinosaur blow-up dolls neatly scattered throughout. Colin noticed them amicably, and when in the vicinity of one, would point to it and make those cute sounds that babies make. Oh, I love photographing babies!

And following the Korean tradition of turning one known as Doljanchi, Colin’s family gathered around the room to see what career path this little guy would take. He dressed up in a cute traditional Korean outfit, and picked up one of the object laid in front of him, which was a ruler.

Congratulations on turning one, Colin! Thank you for having me as your one-year birthday photographer!

In my previous post, I highlighted some of my favorite shots from Lethy and Mark’s in-home maternity shoot. As we get closer to the due date of Mateo, this wonderfully orchestrated baby shower is put on with the theme ‘Little Man’, filled with moustaches and bow ties!

Hermosa Beach Engagement Photographer

locationHERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA

A minute after meeting up with Tynesha and Eddie for an engagement session at Hermosa Beach, I could already feel the chemistry. They bantered constantly and frivolously, which clearly made for great photos! I love going to the beach on weekdays, of all the days. The beaches are quiet and private for the most part, leaving this happily engaged couple to cuddle in their own lovely world. Especially in Los Angeles, where there is an abundance amount of people, it’s amazing how going on a weekday versus a weekend changes the ambient of the beach so drastically!

Tynesha and Eddie, I can’t wait to photograph your wedding!

Itzla and Senya

Los Angeles Children Photographer

locationPASADENA, CALIFORNIA

When kids are set loose in parks or playgrounds, something in their spirits seem to just lift. They run around, zooming to anything that catches their eye or any fellow playground-ers nearby. Or perhaps this only occurs to Itzla and Senya.

Recently, I was given the joy to photograph these two girls, who have such different personalities. The younger one, Itzla, loved to walk, play on the slides, and had such a calm demeanor. The older one, Senya, enjoyed just about everything at the park, with some scrapes to prove it!

They were so busy with playing around that they barely noticed the camera, so I was just able to blend in the background and capture purely candid photos of them. Don’t they just look adorable?!

Dee and Jonathan

Los Angeles Engagement Portrait Photographer

locationMALIBU, CALIFORNIA

For a couple who thinks they don’t photograph well, Dee and Jonathan look amazing in these! We went to El Matador Beach in Malibu, which turned out to be a hot-spot for photographers. We soon understood why – the scenery was breathtaking. Huge cliffs met the sandy beach, with various sized rocks scattered on the shore.

Dee and Jonathan were such troopers during the session, as we had to hike up and down the steep cliff a few times as well as step into the icy-cold water for a few minutes. But they are the kind of couple that are adventurous and I ended up being the one that was out of breath at the end of the session!

Dee and Jonathan, I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in April!
