For months, my friend and I planned a trip to Washington, D.C. that would coincide with the blooms of the Cherry Blossoms. I had seen photos of these wonderful trees blooming in beautiful pink hues during the springtime and badly wanted to see them in person. So we set off for D.C. for a few days. I absolutely LOVE D.C., with all its historic landmarks and brick sidewalks and townhouses.

It was gloomy, windy, and wet. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying the MANY landmarks and museums the city has to offer.

The cherry blossoms sadly did not bloom during the week we were originally there, so I had to go back and do a day trip a couple of weeks after, when I had a free day in New York (a New York travel diary is coming soon!).

If you ever plan a trip to Washington, D.C., I highly encourage you try to plan it during the time when the Cherry Blossom trees are blooming. They are absolutely beautiful!
